For roofers
Deposits before materials, final payment before the crew leaves
A roof is bought twice: the materials are ordered days ahead, and the labor happens in one or two hard days on site. Roofers carry the cost of shingles and underlayment until the final invoice is paid, which makes the deposit and the final collection the two moments that matter.
The billing problems roofers actually have
Materials are ordered before any money has come in.
Invoice the deposit as soon as the customer approves the estimate, and order once it is paid.
Hidden decking damage changes the price after tear-off.
Add the extra sheets as their own line with the change-order number on the invoice, so the customer sees what changed and why.
The final payment slips once the crew has left the property.
Send the final invoice the day the job is done; automatic reminders follow on the days you choose if it is not paid.
A worked invoice
Sample work, priced the way this work is usually priced. The total is computed with the same function the console bills with.

Questions
Can I bill by the square?
Yes. A line has a quantity and a unit price, so squares, sheets and linear feet of drip edge each go on their own line.
Can the homeowner pay by bank transfer instead of card?
Yes. The payment page offers bank transfer (ACH) as well as card, where your processing account supports it.
Can I see which jobs still owe their final payment?
Yes. Unpaid and overdue invoices are listed together, and each customer’s page shows what they still owe.
