The limit, in plain words ## What counts as a send A send is an invoice or an estimate delivered to a customer, or a payment received through a payment link. Drafts, edits, payments against an invoice and PDF downloads never count. When you reach the limit, nothing is locked or deleted. Everything you already sent stays live and payable, drafts still save, estimates still go out and count, and payments are never refused. Only a new invoice, or a new or reactivated payment link, waits until the next month or an upgrade. A move to a lower plan takes effect at the end of the period you have paid for. Your customers are not team members and are never counted — they reach their bills through a verified email address or phone number, not an account you create for them. **Do I need a credit card to start?** No. The free plan needs no card to sign up. **Is AI locked behind an upgrade?** Some of it. On the free plan you can connect your own assistant and use AI to match the columns when you import records. The tools that draft for you, such as the invoice and payment-page designers, assistive copy and reading a document, are on the paid plans. Running low on AI credits does not mean upgrading: the workspace owner can buy more in Settings, AI credits, and buying does not depend on the plan. An assistant you connect uses its own provider’s model, and BillingMart sets what it may read, draft and ask for. ## Start free, decide later No card to sign up.
